The Center Consolidated School District would like to announce the upcoming retirement of our Superintendent, Carrie Zimmerman, following 32 distinguished years in education.
During Carrie’s tenure, she served five years as Skoglund Middle School Principal and eight years as District Superintendent. Throughout this time, she demonstrated a steadfast commitment to academic excellence, student success, and strong community partnerships. Under her leadership, the District has continued to prioritize educational growth, operational stability, and a positive learning environment for all students.
We extend our sincere appreciation for Carrie’s years of service and lasting contributions to our schools and community. We wish her continued success and fulfillment in retirement.
Below is a letter from Superintendent Zimmerman:
Dear Center Students, Families, and Community,
Serving as Superintendent of Center Consolidated School District for the past eight years has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I am incredibly proud of our students, staff, and community, and all that we have accomplished together. Center is truly a special place, and the relationships and memories I have built here will stay with me forever.
After 32 years in education, including 13 years serving Center as both a principal and Superintendent, I have made the difficult decision to retire. This was not easy, but I feel strongly that this is the right time and I am trusting that God is guiding me toward this next chapter both for the good of the district and for my family. I trust that Center will continue to move forward with strength and pride.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve our students, this district, and our community. I am proud of what we have accomplished together. While my role may change, my support, prayers, and pride in Center Consolidated School District will never fade. I will always be cheering for Center and remain part of the Viking family.
