📌 Please note: Physicals will NOT be offered at the school, so you’ll need to schedule one with a local provider.

Center Community- Are you interested in serving on the Center Board of Education? If so, here's an excellent opportunity for you to learn about being an effective board member.

The San Luis Valley BOCES will be offering a Colorado School Board Candidate Academy on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

The purpose of this event is to share information on how to run for a local Board of Education seat, and for participants to gain a deeper understanding of the important role of School Board members in Colorado.

Content will be facilitated by San Luis Valley BOCES Executive Director George Welsh, who was a Colorado superintendent of schools for 25 years and has spent the last four years training and supporting school boards to exhibit excellent governance behavior.

The event begins at 5:30 PM with food and refreshments for those who wish to partake, with content presented from 6 to 7:30 PM.

The Center School District is deeply saddened to share that we lost a valued member of our staff last night. Our hearts are heavy as we grieve this loss together. Counseling support will be available in the library beginning at 10:00 a.m. for anyone who would like a space to talk, reflect, or simply be with others. We ask that you keep the staff, their loved ones, and our entire school community in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
