Welcome Back, Viking Nation! It has been a long, grueling winter, but the grit and determination of our athletes have truly shone through. As we close the chapter on the winter season, we do so with our heads held high. The hard work put in during those dark, cold mornings paid off in a major way! ❄️ Winter Season Highlights 🏀 Basketball: A Sweet 16 Run! Our High School Basketball programs reached incredible heights this year. Both our Boys and Girls teams fought their way into the Sweet 16! This is a testament to the culture of excellence being built here. * Congratulations to Girls Coach Vigil for leading his team through an inspiring postseason run. * Congratulations to Boys Coach Jones for his leadership and a fantastic season finish. 🤼 Wrestling: Podium Finish A massive shout-out to our Wrestling program for another stellar year on the mat. * Special recognition goes to Michael Archuleta, who secured an incredible third-place finish at State! His journey this season has been nothing short of legendary. 📣 Cheer: The Heartbeat of the Gym Our Cheer squad did an amazing job all season long! Thank you for your unwavering hard work and dedication. Your energy kept our players motivated and our fans on their feet—we truly appreciate you showing up and cheering our Vikings to victory! ⚾ Spring Sports: Under Way! The weather is turning, and the fields are calling! Baseball and Track & Field are officially moving into competition mode. * High School Baseball: The boys play their first game tomorrow at Centauri with a 3:00 PM start. They will also be hosting Hoehne in Monte Vista on the 14th. * Track: Our track stars will be heading to Bayfield on the 13th to kick off their season. * Girls soccer is combining with Del Norte this year. We will be hosting at least one game at Center. * Middle School: Middle School Wrestling is currently at the mid-point of their season. Both Middle School Baseball and Track will begin immediately after Spring Break! ⚠️ Coaching Opportunity: We are still actively looking for a Middle School Baseball Coach. If you have a passion for the game and want to help shape our young athletes, please reach out to the athletic department! 🙏 Gratitude: A True Team Effort Running an athletic department is a massive undertaking, and it takes a village to make these programs work. I want to extend a sincere THANK YOU to everyone who puts in the work behind the scenes. * Admin Staff: A huge thank you to our amazing administrative staff! Your willingness to step up and cover games when I can't be in two places at once is what keeps this department running smoothly. * Maintenance: A big thanks to Chris Segura and his entire maintenance staff for keeping our facilities game-ready. * The Table Crew: Thank you to Laurice Butler, Ms. Donaldson, and Mr. Noriega for your essential help with the books, the clock, and announcing. * Gate Keepers: Thank you to everyone who mans the gates and welcomes our fans. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of one of our recent graduates, Heavenleigh Angel Duran. It was a sincere honor for our faculty to witness her growth and graduation in 2024. She didn't just complete the curriculum; she enriched our ARC/CVA classroom with her intellect and her spirit. We extend our deepest sympathies to her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

Funeral Services for Heavenleigh Angel Duran, will be on March 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Valley Church of the Nazarene 228 Madison St, Monte Vista, Colorado. She will be laid to rest at the Center Assembly of God Cemetery 75 La Garita Ranchettes, Del Norte Colorado. The dinner will be at the Center High school Cafeteria following interment
