Parents, If you signed up for our District Accountability Committee (DAC) with Brisa or Dalia at at Open House, just a reminder our meeting is tonight from 4:15-5:30 in the Community Room. We are still looking for 4-5 more parent members. We are giving parents who join and commit to the monthly meeting for the year a pass for all home games at the school. We have other incentives if your child is not in sports and/or you want something different. If you would like to join, please contact Dalia at the school at 719-580-9199.

We have partnered with Advantage Vision and Von's Vision to bring no cost eye exams to all students! They will be at the school October 19th and 20th and will provide the eye exams and students who need glasses will get 2 free pairs of glasses!! If you have vision insurance, it will be billed but there will be no out of pocket costs. If you do not have insurance, your child will get a free eye exam. If your student has had a recent (within the last year) eye exam and just needs glasses, please get a copy of their current prescription and they will get the free glasses! Elementary students had a packet sent home on Thursday. Middle school and High school students can pick up a packet in the office. Attention MS Viking Fans--The MS Volleyball Tournaments are beginning today. MS Volleyball A-Team will be traveling to Centauri today. Their game will begin at 4:30pm. The MS Volleyball B-Team will be traveling to Monte Vista today. Their game will begin at 4:30pm. Both teams will play on Saturday in Sierra Grande. The MS Football Game has been moved to a HOME GAME today, Game starts at 5:00pm against Sargent. Come out and support your MS Vikings.

Movement for the Mind is back again this year! This is a program for youth in grades 5-12. The goal is to promote mental and physical wellness. The group will meet on Tuesdays and Thursday. They are starting on Tuesday, 10/4/22. Sign up ASAP. Talk to Mrs. Ruggles for more information.

Viking Fans, come out and support your MS Volleyball team today @ 4:30 as they take on Alamosa. Our MS Football team plays Monte Vista MS today @ 5:00pm, and our HS Volleyball team takes on the Del Norte Tigers today @ 4:30. Tomorrow, our HS Football team takes on the Centauri Falcon here @ 7:00pm. Come support OUR Viking Athletes.

Don't Forget! Our Diversity Conference for the middle and high schools starts at 8:00 AM with registration and breakfast. The fun starts at 9 AM. Following the Diversity Conference, we will host a Color Run for Mental Health Awareness starting at 4:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend the run/walk. The fee is $25. It is free for students who attend the Diversity Conference. Proceeds benefit the Center Viking Youth Club. Remember you will be getting 100 Viking Bucks if you attend. Students in Choices and Senior Seminar get 100 points extra credit too. We hope to see you all there!

Thanks to the Center Police Department for their quick response and the added security on campus this afternoon. There were no threats in Center, but following standard protocols, the district and police department tightened security this afternoon.
